SCUBA
DIVING
The diving in the Galapagos Islands is fantastic.
The sheer abundance of life is amazing. On
most dives you will see several hundred large
marine animals. On
any given dive it is not uncommon to see sea
lions, turtles, hammerhead sharks, shite tip
sharks, manta rays, Galapagos sharks, and
huge schools of eagle and / or golden rays,
sometimes numbering between 50 – 100
individuals.
There is also the possibility of seeing whales,
whale sharks, thousands of dolphins and large
schools of hammerheads.
In 1978 this National
Park was declared by UNESCO a Natural Heritage,
in 1995 a whale’s Sanctuary and at
the present the Galapagos Island ocean area
constitute the second biggest Marine Reserve
in the world.
A diving cruise with
us will offer two to three dives a day.
A normal diving itinerary consists of dives,
together with land visits to the islands.
At certain dive sites like Roca Redonda,
or the northernmost islands of Wolf and
Darwin we might offer four dives a day.
Night dives are also provided if conditions
are good.
Our dive masters
are well trained and knowledgeable about
life below and above water. Their job is
to teach about the unique Galapagos environment
and to take care of the visitor's safety
and enjoyment.
All
our yachts are specifically equipped for
diving cruises.
We provide:
1. Tanks and air
2. Scuba Tanks
3. Weights and weight belts
4. 2 Compressors
5. 2 dive master guides
Passengers have to
bring:
6. Health Certificate
7. Wet Suit
8. Regulator
9. Diving Certificate
10. Buoyancy Control Vest
